Maybe I can cram in a short story or two this month, although I am already scheduled through most of October. Right now, though I have to finish Les Miz, which is just crawling along.

Whew, that’s a doorstopper and a half! I’ve never attempted it and doubt I ever will. A short story would make a good palate cleanser, I’m sure.

I’m in… starting with Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote, and then Parker Pryne Investigates by Agatha Christie!

I am in too. I would like to read one of Edward D. Hoch’s short story collections so that I can read more of his short stories. I enjoyed one of his Captain Leopold stories recently so I think the collection will be worth it.

I’m joining in, too. I saw on Annabel’s blog that you are hosting this challenge, Rebecca. I love short stories, and admire those authors who are able to craft entire worlds over a couple of dozen pages.
I have two books among the 60 I’m aiming to read from my To Read mountain this year, Heart Lamp by Banu Mushtaq and The Grey Woman and Other Tales by Elizabeth Gaskell. Another short story collection landed on my doormat yesterday, Curious Events Lately Occurring In This Neighbourhood by Tom Cox. So that makes three collections that I’ll read this month.
I’ve just finished Heart Lamp and will add a link to my review on the link party when I’ve posted it.

It’s about to be published through Breakthrough Book Collective, which was set up by a group of authors and editors who were impacted by Unbound’s collapse. I pre-ordered earlier this year, so it’s here a little early. I’m loving it so far!

Here’s an unusual contribution: a collection of stories from a Sri-Lankan/Australian doctor who served as an army medic in the Sri Lankan civil war. They’re not edgy but they are definitely authentic.
