#ShortStorySeptember Round-Up with Statistics

Thank you for joining in and making this second year of Short Story September such a success! In total, 25 bloggers contributed 80 posts, including planning posts and book lists plus reviews that together covered 38 individual stories and 60 whole collections (and a bonus biography of a short story writer).

If you want to take a look back at the link parties, they are here and here.

The authors covered more than once this year were Celia Fremlin and W. Somerset Maugham; the only book reviewed more than once (certain stories, at least) was Vampire Tales, a good lead into R.I.P.

As always, I bit off much more than I could chew and I’m still making my way through a number of collections and single stories. For my benefit, if no one else’s, the link party will stay open (and the opening post pinned on my site) through 6 October. I’ll come back and update the final statistics as well.

Well done for hosting. People like me, who DID actually read some short stories, but DIDN’T post, are no use to you at all. But you did encourage me to try a few things out so it IS a win for you, honest!

    Thank you for hosting.
I’ve added far too many stories and authors to my list this month but justify this because they are short stories.

Thank you for hosting! I also had more reading plans than what I could actually accomplish, but it was fun nonetheless

That’s always the way, it seems. Getting anything off the TBR is a win!

No worries, Lisa, I was happy to do it. I’m just sorry I didn’t review more within the month.

Well, I think you did well. It’s all too easy to set impossible standards for ourselves, and then feel guilty about not achieving them and to overlook the act of generosity that made it possible in the first place.

Thank you! I do have a habit of setting impossible reading goals for myself.

Late to the party, but I’d like to add to the appreciation for hosting this year’s short story extravaganza. I’m not entirely convinced that the Linky thingsmajig added my link, so I’m adding it here, too.

Not too late, don’t worry! I have yet to review my last catch-up batch. (It is indeed on the link-up.)

Thank you for hosting! I enjoyed reading my two books of short stories, and in fact have read another this month which came in right at the end of September.
